What TVMA Can Do For You
TVMA has worked to better the profession for over 100 years and hopefully will continue the effort to preserve and enhance the profession for the next 100 years.
Protect the Profession
TVMA advocates for and protects the profession though constant legislative and regulatory tracking, monitoring and taking action to prevent the government from unduly interfering with your practice. TVMA is your voice in state government, ensuring that veterinary medicine’s interests are fully represented.
Promote Public Awareness
TVMA continuously educates the public concerning the contributions of veterinary medicine and the responsibilities of animal ownership. In fact, TVMA drives business directly to your clinic through the "Find a Veterinarian" link on the website. The website also offers advice specifically for pet owners through articles and the podcast series TexVetPets. TVMA is constantly developing new public awareness campaigns such as the Slim Pet Challenge and Woofstock and will continue to grow this aspect of the Association.
Professional Career Advancement
TVMA can help you advance your career and your practice through its continuing education offerings and unique programs, including the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice. We have also begun offering a variety of "boutique" educational experiences throughout the year. Your support staff can reach a higher level of expertise and credentials through the Certified Veterinary Assistant, Registered Veterinary Technician or Certified Veterinary Business Manager programs.
Publish Regular News Updates
TVMA keeps members up to date through a wide variety of communication channels. Six times a year, TVMA publishes the Texas Veterinarian magazine and the electronic newsletter eFYI to offer in-depth news, features and information to help your practice. The TVMA Web site and e-mail alerts inform you immediately of the latest breaking news.
TVMA's business alliance program gives you access to deep discounts and special offers from a host of companies that can help you save money in every aspect of your practice, from payment processing to electricity to office supplies. What TVMA Members Say
