TEXAS VETERINARY MEDICAL FOUNDATION
Extending Our Abilities to Serve You
The Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation was established in 1978 as a charitable and philanthropic organization. The Foundation is dedicated to ensuring the health and welfare of animals in Texas and celebrating the human-animal bond through education, public relations, research, fundraising and the development of people in the field of veterinary medicine, which is described in the Foundation's Vision for Animal Wellbeing. The Foundation receives tax-deductible gifts from the public, veterinarians and pharmaceutical and supply industries.
TVMF has been involved in many successful projects. In 1984, it created the Texas Animal Hall of Fame, a successful and much-imitated program that honors remarkable animals and puts Texas veterinarians in a positive media spotlight. In 1991, it commissioned “A Special Kind of Doctor,” a book documenting the history of veterinary medicine in Texas. The Foundation has greatly extended the outreach of TVMA and provides many public relations opportunities for the association.
